This was my first DLSR, but worth the money. I agree with the hosts of the shot more volume and auto focus with scene modes, but overall you can not beat this camera for the price. Actually there are defects in this product, just great images and movies in general. Users will find that the T1i both for beginners as well as experts. After spending several hours today with the camera to test all kinds of ways and the variety of situations, I’m still in love with it and would buy again and again.

Now that is about 4 months, I’m still in love with this camera. Took a trip to Alaska for the summer and I am best shots and video than I could imagine. Equipped with Canon EF-S 55-250mm F/4.0-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens, some B & W filter, a pair of memory cards, Transcend 16 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card TS16GSDHC6E [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging], and you should be set. Extremely fast, he worked in low light, the battery life is better than declared, stood up and the points (had to clean the sensor with the wet, but they are like new). Movies look professional if you use a tripod or monopod, and pictures almost always come out flawless.
